NACA Family Health Center is dedicated to providing quality healthcare to the Native and non-Native populations of Flagstaff and surrounding areas. The NACA Family Health Center is committed to providing compassionate, patient sensitive and culturally sensitive clinic staff to guarantee the best healthcare for our patients.

 

To ensure cultural sensitivity, all clinic staff including the Nurse Practitioners and Doctor's have had extensive experience and training in working with Native American patients.

Our Services

We accept & provide services to all ethnic groups and all ages; while focusing on whole-family health care. We pride ourselves in focusing on Native American health care, with a whole person in mind.

 

Specialty care referrals are available for all patients. Referrals are also available to Native American patients through Indian Health Services facilities in Flagstaff and surrounding areas

Meet Our Providers

George Hershey

Medical Director

George Hershey, DO, received his doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Arizona State University and is certified as a sports medicine physician. He specializes in family practice as well as sports medicine and is motivated by his desire to serve the community. Dr. Hershey prides himself on his bedside manner that he believes resembles the original “country doctor” that would provide necessary house calls and make themselves available to their patients whenever needed.

 

Dr. Hershey is motivated by the desire to care for his patients, aiding them in achieving long-lasting wellness and allowing them to live their lives to the fullest.

 

Dr. Hershey loves camping, hunting and spending as much time as he is able with his lovely wife and their pets. Dr. Hershey has served as the Northern Arizona University athletics team physician for the last 48 years. In this time he has worked with both student and Olympic athletes to ensure their health, wellbeing and peak performance.

Natalie Metz

Natalie Metz, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, received her bachelor of science in nursing from Northern Arizona University, her master of science in nursing and her doctorate of nursing practice from Frontier Nursing University. She is a certified family nurse practitioner, advanced practice registered nurse and doctor of nursing practice. Her areas of focus are: family medicine with an emphasis on ages five and up, chronic disease management, wellness across the lifespan, LGBTQ+ and sexual health including STI treatment and prevention.

 

Natalie has been a registered nurse since 2011 and has worked in a variety of healthcare settings including: inpatient acute care, outpatient medical and radiation oncology. Natalie began her career as a family nurse practitioner at NACA and thoroughly enjoys working with Native American peoples. She is passionate about providing medical care to underserved populations and understanding the individualized needs of her patients.

 

In her free time, Natalie enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at the beach; nearly all types of physical activity; relaxing with her wife, Meagan; making fermented foods and playing fantasy football.

NACA Inc. accepts most private insurances as well as Medicare and Medicaid. Additionally, we provide services for visitors who plan to self-pay and do apply a sliding fee scale to those who qualify. Call or visit us today!

Patient Benefit Coordination

The NACA Family Health Center offers enrollment assistance for patients who do not have insurance, with AHCCCS. The Benefits Coordinator is available to patients for confidential enrollment appointments, to ensure all required documents are securely sent to the enrollment office. If a patient does not qualify for AHCCCS, a sliding fee scale is offered and determined by the income/household size.

Getting Started with the NACA Family Health Center

Appointment Scheduling

 

Please call our office to schedule an appointment. We request a 24 hour cancellation notice, should you choose to cancel your appointment.

 

Same day appointments are available for established patients with acute ailments such as: sinus infections, common colds, allergies, cold symptoms, possible urine infections, etc.
