| Assessment:
All clients are first interviewed and evaluated on
an individual basis. The initial assessment
determines the level of care and ideal program for
that person. Clients are charged a $40.00 fee for
assessment.
Outpatient services: Education/counseling groups are held twice weekly. The comprehensive 36 hour curriculum includes topics such as the disease concept of alcoholism and drug addiction, cultural stressors, family dynamics, co-dependency, grief, health education, use of traditional beliefs and practices in healing, and relapse prevention.
DUI classes: Clients who have been convicted of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) can fulfill their court-ordered education requirements in two full day sessions (16 hours), held
twice a month on Saturdays'. Participants are charged:
DUI education (16 hours) $60 for Native Americans/$120 for non-Natives
DUI / Substance abuse counseling $100 for Native Americans/$200 for non-Natives
Driver's license reinstatement $80.00
Aftercare/Follow-up Services: Follow-up services are available for those individuals who have completed a primary treatment program and who wish to participate in continuing care. Aftercare groups meet on a weekly basis.
Referrals: Referrals are made for
inpatient treatment or to other health
professionals or agencies as needed. Counselors
assist clients with placement in an inpatient
treatment program through collaboration with the
Indian Health Service and the Navajo Nation.
Community Outreach: The NACA SAP counselors work with a variety of agencies such as the Flagstaff Unified School District, the Kinlani Dormitory, the Juvenile Courts, Northern Arizona University and the Navajo Nation. Presentations on substance abuse topics are available free of charge for any interested community organization. |
