According to WIOA Section 166 Law, the purpose of Native American Programs is to support employment and training activities for Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian individuals in order (A) to develop more fully the academic, occupational, and literacy skills of such individuals; (B) to make such individuals more competitive in the workforce; and (C) to promote the economic and social development of Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian communities in accordance with the goals and values of such communities.

The NACA WIOA Program provides services in the areas of training and employment.  The program is designed to provide career opportunities through services targeting work experience and educational opportunities/enhancement.  The program provides work experience internships, career advisement, career counseling, employment search, employment referrals, employment placement, or classroom training assistance via limited tuition/book assistance.  Job seeking skills, resume development, interview preparation, supportive services, as well as personal profile assessment (if needed) for referral to other agency/community services which individuals may need. These assessments are available on a case by case basis.

The Program

The Award Winning NACA Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program, funded through the Division of Indian and Native American Programs (DINAP), Section 166, U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training, is designed to enrich the lives of Native Americans by helping them achieve economic self-sufficiency through work experience internships and classroom training with a goal to enter employment upon program completion.

Eligible participants who are economically disadvantaged, unemployed or underemployed are able to access work experience (WEX), job counseling, referrals and placement, classroom training (CRT), career counseling, academic counseling financial aid and educational assistance. Our program provides ongoing case management to its customers in a manner that is culturally appropriate and holistic in nature. Through individual development plans, we will work with customers to set goals, and identify needs. Referrals to other NACA programs or outside community agencies are made as needed.
